Salary: From £32,000 per annum DOE
Hours: 38.5 hours per week
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to lead a professional and dedicated nursing team, at a new referral centre? Veterinary Vision is a friendly, supportive and growing referral practice providing a veterinary ophthalmology services across Northern England and Scotland.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse to manage our team, based at our new premises in Bamber Bridge. Previous experience of ophthalmology is not required as full training will be provided.

What we’re looking for- A qualified registered veterinary nurse with some leadership experience. Must be at least 3 years qualified
- Someone who is proactive and thrives off learning more and developing their skills
Key Responsibilities- The Lead Nurse would organise and oversee patient flow on a day to day basis
- Identify and improve the efficiency of the patient pathway from admission through to discharge
- Ensure that you and those working in your team of responsibility provide a high and sustainable quality of nursing care
- Provide leadership to those working in your team of responsibility
- Ensure effective communication within your team of responsibility, other lead nurses and the Nursing Manager
- Work with the Nursing Manager to help support the identification, prioritisation and implementation of learning, development and CPD for nurses in your team where required
- Provide effective line management of those in your team including nurse appraisals and regular feedback to the Nursing Manager, who can ensure mentoring, coaching and development discussions where needed
- Ensuring all equipment in the practice is appropriately maintained and serviced
- Liaising with the Lead Vet and Nursing Manager, overseeing equipment and stock management. Including routine maintenance, placing any and all orders, liaising with others to reorder items in a timely manner - Perform regular audits (including review of stock, equipment and Vetsafe reporting (where appropriate). Share the results with the practice team and senior management to make changes where appropriate.
- Support and introduce clinical standards set by The Senior Leadership team, ensuring patient records are completed fully
Working enthusiastically with your team you will help to maintain a happy, efficient working environment whilst providing outstanding patient and client care. Maintain an overview of the nursing team and the provision of patient care across the team that you lead.
