Job summary

Abivale Vets seeks a Veterinary Surgeon to join our Wantage team within the IVC Evidensia network. You’ll handle a balanced mix of consulting and surgical cases with clinical freedom under supervision as needed.

We offer a supportive culture with 40-hour weeks on a typical full-time basis; there is flexibility for part-time applicants and no out-of-hours or on-call requirements. Enjoy a collaborative, locally rooted practice connected to a larger specialists network.

Qualifications

• A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS.
• Experience working in clinical practice with confidence across routine medical and surgical cases.
• The clinical confidence and experience to work sole charge.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
• A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development.
• Professionalism, reliability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• A passion for delivering excellent patient and client care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied first opinion caseload.

Veterinary Surgeon at Abivale Vets, Wantage

Up to £60,000 (DOE)

We're looking for a vet to join our well-established team at our Wantage practice. This role will involve working at our other sites as required. You’ll enjoy a well-balanced caseload across consulting and surgery, with the clinical freedom to manage and follow your own cases.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding first opinion caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice and delivering excellent care for our patients and clients.

Flexibility with Hours

We understand that finding the right balance between work and life matters. A typical full-time role averages 40 hours per week, and we’re also happy to consider part-time applications.

• Average of 40 hours per week for full-time colleagues
• Part-time applications welcomed
• 2 Saturdays and 1 Sunday every 7 weeks
• Bank holidays shared on a rota basis
• No out-of-hours or on-call requirement
