Job summary

Inspiring Vet Care is recruiting an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join Abivale Vets in Wallingford. You’ll enjoy a well-balanced caseload across consulting and surgery, with the clinical freedom to manage and follow your own cases in a sole charge role.

You’ll be supported by a Veterinary Nurse and Receptionist, with access to the wider Abivale clinical network. The role is based mainly at Wallingford, with an option to spend one day per week at the main site.

Qualifications

  • RCVS registration and eligibility to practice in the UK.
  • Experience handling both medical and surgical cases in a first opinion setting.
  • Ability to work sole charge with professional communication to clients.

Up to £65,000

We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Abivale Vets in Wallingford. You’ll enjoy a well-balanced caseload across consulting and surgery, with the clinical freedom to manage and follow your own cases.

This is a sole charge role, so we’re looking for someone comfortable working independently and making confident clinical decisions. You won’t be working alone, however. When based at Wallingford, you’ll be supported by a highly experienced Veterinary Nurse and Receptionist, alongside the wider Abivale team and clinical network.

You’ll be based primarily at our Wallingford practice, with the option to spend one day per week at our main site if preferred.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding first opinion caseload.

You’ll take ownership of your cases, using your experience and clinical judgement to work confidently in a sole charge environment while remaining connected to the wider Abivale team.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice and delivering excellent care for our patients and clients.

Flexibility with Hours

We understand that finding the right balance between work and life matters. A typical full-time role averages 40 hours per week, and we’re also happy to consider part-time applications.

  • Average of 40 hours per week for full-time colleagues
  • Part-time applications welcomed
  • 2 Saturdays and 1 Sunday every 7 weeks
  • Bank holidays shared on a rota basis
  • No out-of-hours or on-call requirement
