Job summary

Abivale Vets in Wantage invites applications for a Veterinary Surgeon. You will deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied first opinion caseload, with clinical freedom to manage and follow your own cases.

The role offers a typical full-time ~40 hours/week, with part-time applications considered. The practice is part of a veterinary group with multiple sites, including Abingdon, Didcot, Wallingford and Wantage.

Qualifications

• Veterinary degree and RCVS registration or eligibility to register.
• Experience in first opinion veterinary care with medical and surgical cases.
• Ability to work across multiple sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standard of patient and client care across a varied first opinion caseload.
• Manage a balanced caseload in consulting and surgery and follow your own cases.
• Work at Wantage practice with potential coverage at other Abivale sites as required.

We're looking for a vet to join our well-established team at our Wantage practice. This role will involve working at our other sites as required. You’ll enjoy a well-balanced caseload across consulting and surgery, with the clinical freedom to manage and follow your own cases.

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding first opinion caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice and delivering excellent care for our patients and clients.

Flexibility with Hours

We understand that finding the right balance between work and life matters. A typical full-time role averages 40 hours per week, and we’re also happy to consider part-time applications.

• Average of 40 hours per week for full-time colleagues
• Part-time applications welcomed
• 2 Saturdays and 1 Sunday every 7 weeks
• Bank holidays shared on a rota basis
• No out-of-hours or on-call requirement
