Job summary

Stonehenge Vets is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon for our small animal team in the Gillingham area, near Salisbury. The role offers 24.5 hours over 3 days, with a Saturday rota (1:5, 9am–2pm) and no out-of-hours work. This fixed-term contract lasts 12 months, with a salary up to £44,000 based on experience.

The practice delivers a varied caseload in a supportive team, dedicated to top‑quality patient and client care, working across two branches near the Wiltshire/Hampshire border.

Qualifications

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon with RCVS registration or eligibility to register.
  • Experience in clinical practice with routine medical and surgical cases.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Proactive learner open to feedback and development.
  • Professional, reliable and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for delivering excellent patient and client care.

Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal Stonehenge Vets - Gillingham, Dorset Salary up to £44,000 DOE, FTC 12 months

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary surgeon to join our team at Stonehenge and Sidbury hill vets, based on the Wiltshire/Hampshire border within easy reach to the beautiful city of Salisbury, with Stonehenge and Woodhenge also being close by. Great for keen ramblers with Salisbury plain right on our doorstep to explore.

Our Durrington practice is purpose built with modern facilities.

We are a busy small animal practice with 2 branches located 10 minutes apart.

This role provides a great mix of operating and consulting over a 3 day week with some flexibility for the right candidate.

We are strong team with a great mix of skills throughout , we are a patient focused practice and we pride ourselves on our care, we are blessed with lovely clients with a high percentage of insured pets.

24.5 hours spread over 3 days, Saturday rota 1:5 9am-2pm and no OOH. This is a FTC for 12 months.
