Job description

Relocation allowance up to £8,000 Join our growing small animal practice with two well‑equipped sites and a close‑knit team that takes pride in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. Our vets bring a wealth of experience, working alongside dedicated veterinary nurses and support staff who share a strong commitment to animal welfare. We prioritise open communication and teamwork, ensuring that everyone’s voice is valued.

Salary up to £75,000 FTE DOE

Our Summerdale branch is based in Cwmbran, a well‑connected town offering easy access to local amenities, green spaces, and excellent transport links. Newport is just 10–15 minutes away, with Cardiff within easy reach, making it an ideal base whether you prefer city life, coast, or countryside. If you're looking to relocate to the area we can support the right candidate with a relocation allowance of up to £8,000, making your move as easy as possible.

The practice is well equipped to support excellent clinical standards and confident decision‑making, with modern, in‑house facilities including:

  • Comprehensive laboratory equipment, including biochemistry and haematology analysers, SNAP test reader, centrifuge, microscope, haematocrit testing and Diff‑Quick staining
  • Advanced diagnostic and monitoring tools such as ultrasound, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry, multiparameter monitoring and a Bair Hugger warming system
  • A fully equipped dental suite, including dental machine and dental X‑ray
  • Digital X‑ray facilities for high‑quality imaging and diagnostics

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Hours and Schedule
  • Full time hours, up to 40 per week
  • Part time hours, including short days and later start times
  • 1 in 5 Saturdays (negotiable)
  • No out‑of‑hours requirements
