Purosearch Ltd. is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon for an independent, family-run practice in Slough. The role offers a 4-day week, no out-of-hours work, and a supportive team with strong community values.
There is potential for a bonus and a path to develop orthopaedic services in-house. Salary is up to £70,000 FTE, with scope for growth based on experience. The practice provides modern facilities, dedicated wards, and opportunities to pursue surgical certificates while contributing
Since 2006, this proudly independent, family-run veterinary practice has been dedicated to providing outstanding veterinary care and exceptional customer service to the pets and owners of Slough. As passionate pet owners themselves, the team understands just how much every animal means to its family — and that’s reflected in everything they do.
Now, the practice is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon (2–3 years+ experience) to join their friendly, close-knit team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in surgery — ideally working towards, or keen to start, a Surgical Certificate. There’s also real scope for someone who would like to help develop orthopaedic services in-house.
Set within new, purpose-built premises, every detail has been designed for patient comfort, clinical excellence, and smooth day-to-day workflows. The spacious waiting area offers separate zones for cats and dogs, helping to reduce stress from the moment clients walk through the door.
With dedicated wards for cats, dogs, and rabbits — all equipped with state-of-the-art heated cages — the environment supports species-specific care and comfort. The practice also boasts a purpose-built imaging room with digital radiography and ultrasound, alongside an in-house laboratory for fast and accurate diagnostic testing.
You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced nursing and reception team, with a new RVN joining this year. Both directors hold Certificates in Small Animal Surgery, and the practice already performs a wide range of soft tissue procedures in-house, alongside a visiting orthopaedic surgeon.
If you’re a motivated veterinary surgeon looking to take the next step in your career with a forward-thinking, family-run practice, this could be the perfect fit.
And don't forget, if this position is of no interest to you but you know someone who may be interested, please pass on our details. We offer £250* for every successful candidate referral. *Terms and conditions apply.
