Experienced vet required - mid-Cheshire independent practice – initial 12m contract with potential for perm

Salt House Veterinary Centre are looking for an experienced vet to join our friendly and dedicated team, initially to provide maternity cover for 12 months from September 2025, but with the potential for this to become a permanent role in future.

We’re looking to cover between 30 and 40 hours per week, including 1:4 Saturday mornings. We can be flexible with specific days/hours. No OOH, Sundays or Bank Holidays, plus the equivalent of five weeks annual leave.

We’ll cover RCVS, VDS and one professional membership of your choice. CPD is flexible. Other benefits include pension and life assurance cover.

We’re a first opinion small animal practice opened in 2022. We are independent and not profit driven, preferring to prioritise job satisfaction, client experience and supporting pet owners in the local community.

We’re a well-equipped practice and perform a wide-range of procedures in-house, including imaging and surgery. Our lead vet is just about to complete a surgery certificate and performs various soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures, so it’s never a boring day!

We need someone who is happy with consults and routine surgeries and can manage a day a week sole charge, so you’ll need to have at least a couple of years under your belt.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience / market rates, although please be aware we’re a small independent, not a big corporate!
