Job description

For those who enjoy country air and long walks, Scunthorpe is a stone’s throw away from the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and is the highest land between Kent and Yorkshire. In The Wolds, there are many quaint market villages with plenty of independent shops and history to explore. Ashby in Scunthorpe is just off the M180 and M18 motorways, allowing easy transport links to the Lincolnshire Wolds, Hull, Doncaster, Lincoln, and York.

To the East, there is the popular seaside resort of Cleethorpes with many traditional seaside restaurants and activities, the boating lake, The Jungle Zoo, and Cleethorpes Light Railway.

Ashby is a large practice with 3 consult rooms, 1 double surgical theatre, dental suite, digital x-ray room, prep area, and separated dog and cat isolation rooms. It is supported by 2 Vets, HRVN, and a strong Nursing and support team.

We are offering a full-time working pattern of 4 weekdays per week and a fair weekend rota, but if part-time is something you wish to consider, let’s talk about how we can support this.

We offer a relocation package if relocating from outside the UK or more than 60 miles from your current UK address.

Role Accountabilities:

1. Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
2. Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
3. Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
4. Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
5. Engage, mentor, and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
6. Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
7. Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

1. RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
2. Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
3. Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
4. Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
5. Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
6. Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
7. Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
