A leading veterinary group in Bushey is seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their team. Blythwood Vets is a small animal primary care practice with four closely located sites in leafy northwest London. Our main clinics are in Bushey and Hatch End, with smaller branches in Stanmore and Northwood, and we have been established in the local area for over 40 years.
We are part of the Practice Standards Scheme and a training practice for Veterinary Nurses, and we are a high‑end first opinion group with a large proportion of insured clients. Our facilities include digital x‑rays, dental x‑rays, ultrasound machines with colour flow doppler, and a digital surgical suite. Blythwood is part of Linnaeus and Mars Veterinary Health, the largest family‑owned veterinary company in the world. As a privately owned practice we can drive by purpose, creating a better world for our people and our clients.
We have a new position for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join our established team. The ideal candidate will be confident with 15‑minute appointments, performing routine consultations and procedures. This role combines both consulting and surgical responsibilities, with an inpatient rota where the vet provides back‑up to the nurse on evening checks. Any patient that requires constant monitoring is transported to our out‑of‑hours provider. Part‑time applicants will be requested to contribute towards the weekend rota, and encouragement and support are provided towards Veterinary Certification and career progression.
Full‑time rota: 40‑hour (4‑day) week, with one Saturday in three and one weekend in six. There is no on‑call. Part‑time applications are considered, with time off in‑lieu available following weekend work or open for discussion as part of a salary package. Start times are 9 am to 7 pm weekdays, 9 am to 4 pm Saturdays and 10 am to 4 pm Sundays.
