Job description

We are looking for a Part time Saturday Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly team at Deane Vets in Taunton, Somerset. We are looking for exceptional client care and patient care to be delivered at every visit.

The Receptionist role includes the following responsibilities:
  • Warmly greeting clients and their pets with a friendly, compassionate, and helpful demeanor
  • Efficiently managing the diary to maximize appointment slots, handle online bookings, and address emergencies while maintaining client records in compliance with GDPR
  • Performing general administrative tasks, including training for your role
  • Answering busy phone lines, emails, and other client communications with professionalism
  • Registering clients for the Pet Health Club
  • Processing payments, cashing up at the end of the day, managing client orders, and handling repeat prescription requests
  • Unpacking orders and maintaining stock levels
  • Ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming reception, waiting area, and consulting rooms
  • Keeping up with ongoing online company training
About Us

We are a friendly, caring and progressive small animal practice on the edge of Taunton. We are within easy reach of the coast, or the Big Smoke of Bristol or Exeter. We offer forward looking veterinary care with great facilities, in a calm professional environment where team support is paramount. You would join a team of 3 Receptionists, 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses. Teamwork is very important to us with frequent meetings, support and advice. We are a thriving GP practice but with plenty of scope for developing specialist interests and advancing skills.

We are looking for a Veterinary Receptionist who has experience working in a busy vet practice. The role will suit a positive, proactive and supportive individual, who has excellent communication, organisational and attention to detail skills who enjoys a busy customer forward facing client care role, you will be the sole receptionist on a Saturday with the support of our Veterinary Nurses.

This is a part-time, permanent position, working 10 hours per month, 2x Saturdays a month, 8 am – 1 pm.
