Job summary

CVS Vets is recruiting a Veterinary Receptionist for our Great Ashby practice. Based at St Francis House, Whitehorse Lane, the role offers 25 hours per week with a varied shift pattern across Monday to Saturday, within 08:00–20:00, including some Saturday work.

• Previous experience as a receptionist or in client-focused roles is preferred
• Ability to handle emotional situations with kindness and professionalism
• Strong communication and genuine empathy
• Outstanding customer service and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Manage Communication: Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
• Inquiries Resolution: Respond to queries via phone, email, and in-person
• Client Reception: Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome
• Insurance Management: Process and manage insurance forms
• Medication Distribution: Dispense medications as required
• Financial Transactions: Process payments accurately and efficiently
• Emotional Support: Provide empathy and understanding to clients during distressing times
• System Utilisation: Organise patients using the in-house system
• Inter-practice Communication: Liaise with other practices to address patient needs
• Debt and Refund Management: Make calls regarding debts and refunds
• Client Care: Ensure every client feels welcomed and valued

Location: St Francis House, Whitehorse Lane, Great Ashby, SG1 6DU

Contract: Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months

Hours: 25 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday – Saturday on a varied shift pattern, between the hours of 08.00 – 20.00 with a share in the Saturday 08.00 – 17.00 rota

Who We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Receptionist or in a demanding, client-focused role is a must; experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus!
• Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations with kindness and professionalism
• Strong communication skills paired with genuine empathy
• Outstanding customer service skills and experience with the public
• Positive attitude and superior teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
