Job summary

CVS Vets in the United Kingdom invites applications for a part-time Receptionist to join our client-facing team at our Great Ashby practice. You will handle calls, appointments, registrations, and payments while delivering compassionate care to clients and their pets.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, empathy, and experience with office software. The role requires flexibility across a varied weekday schedule and some Saturday shifts.

Qualifications

  • Previous receptionist or client-focused role required.
  • Experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus.
  • Strong communication and genuine empathy are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Able to handle emotional situations with professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Communication: Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
  • Inquiries Resolution: Respond to queries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with professionalism
  • Client Reception: Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome
  • Insurance Management: Process and manage insurance forms adeptly
  • Medication Distribution: Dispense medications as required
  • Financial Transactions: Process payments accurately and efficiently
  • Emotional Support: Provide empathy and understanding to clients during distressing times, while maintaining professionalism
  • System Utilisation: Organise patients using the in-house system efficiently
  • Inter-practice Communication: Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries
  • Debt and Refund Management: Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings, and refunds
  • Client Care: Above all, ensure that every client feels welcomed and valued at our practice

Role Details

Location: St Francis House, Whitehorse Lane, Great Ashby, SG1 6DU

Contract: Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months

Hours: 25 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday - Saturday on a varied shift pattern, between the hours of 08.00 - 20.00 with a share in the Saturday 08.00 - 17.00 rota

Who We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Receptionist or in a demanding, client-focused role is a must; experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus!
  • Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations with kindness and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills paired with genuine empathy
  • Outstanding customer service skills and experience with the public
  • Positive attitude and superior teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
