Job description

If you enjoy providing great service in a fast-paced work environment, we have just the opportunity for you at our Cambridge Beehive Vets for Pets practice.

Our Cambridge Beehive practice is a dual practice alongside our surgery in Bar Hill. Please note you will be required to work in both practices.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours including weekends on a rota basis.

What we're looking for in our Veterinary Receptionist:
  • Previous Receptionist/Administration experience is essential, veterinary experience is desirable.
  • You are the friendly and welcoming face for the client and their pets when they arrive at the practice.
  • You should be resilient and able to work under pressure.
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to bring enthusiasm and drive to your role. Your passion for service is matched with your love of pets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems.
  • Confidence with clients when discussing finances.
  • Your personality is infectious and along with your fellow colleagues, you create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the practice.
Day-to-day duties of the role will include:
  • Answering phones and booking appointments.
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person, email and via our online messaging service.
  • Registering new clients.
  • Dispensing medications.
  • Taking payments.
  • Supporting the clinical team with referrals, insurance claims, finance applications and preparing paperwork.
  • And most importantly; providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice.
What your typical day will look like

Your focus is to provide an exceptional service to our clients and the best care possible to their pets - providing a link between them and the clinical team. Your ability to build strong relationships with our clients, their pets and the practice team will be critical to your success.

You will greet each client and offer support, guidance, and expertise, managing payments and future bookings confidently. Coordinating the smooth running of the day-to-day routines of the practice will be done using our online booking system, so computer literacy and strong administrative skills is a must.

Benefits
  • In return, we offer such benefits as 20% discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home and the Groom Room, access to discounts and cashbacks, in-house career development opportunities, pension, and holiday allowance.

Location: CB1 3ET

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities.
