Job summary

Vets Now is seeking a Weekend Veterinary Nurse in Kilmarnock to support our emergency team on Sundays. This role offers a chance to expand ECC knowledge while balancing family commitments and a potential second income.

You will cover every other Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30, plus a fair share of bank holidays, contributing to triage, surgery and in-patient care in a fast-paced clinic and receiving access to CPD and ECC certificate support.

Qualifications

• RCVS registered with a minimum of six months experience.
• Commitment to high clinic standards and compassionate care.
• Experience with ECC caseload is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• First Aid: provide advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Critical Care: monitor major body systems and in-patient trends.
• Diagnostics: perform basic diagnostic procedures in sole charge.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid - give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
