Job summary

Nurse Seekers are recruiting on behalf of a well-established veterinary practice to welcome an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to their friendly team. The RVN will work alongside experienced Veterinary Surgeons and Nurses in a supportive environment that fosters professional development and clinical excellence.

The role is varied, including diagnostics, peri-operative care, and client guidance on preventive care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Veterinary Surgeons during consultations, surgeries, and diagnostics.
  • Monitor anaesthesia and peri-operative patient care.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as instructed.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, faecal).
  • Maintain accurate clinical records according to RCVS standards.
  • Provide client advice on preventative care, nutrition, and ongoing treatment plans.
  • Maintain high hygiene, infection control and sterilisation throughout the practice.

The Role

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting Veterinary Surgeons during consultations, surgical procedures, and diagnostics.
  • Monitoring anaesthesia and providing exceptional peri-operative and post-operative patient care.
  • Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments in line with veterinary instructions.
  • Collecting and processing laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and faecal samples.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with RCVS standards.
  • Delivering excellent client care by providing advice on preventative healthcare, nutrition, and ongoing treatment plans.
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, infection control, and equipment sterilisation throughout the practice.
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Previous experience within a small animal practice.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A caring, compassionate approach towards patients and their owners.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a busy clinical environment.
  • Laboratory experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
