Are you a hands-on, team-oriented RVN looking for a role that offers variety, autonomy, and genuine respect for your skills?
We’re working with a thriving independent practice in Basingstoke that’s on the lookout for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly, forward-thinking team. This is a full-time position in a busy, progressive clinic where you’ll be actively involved in all aspects of nursing — from surgical support to inpatient care and client consults.
This practice handles a wide mix of cases ranging from routine health checks to orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and exotic pets, giving you a rich and rewarding nursing experience. Whether you’re newly qualified with solid clinical exposure, or an experienced RVN with a particular interest in surgery, you’ll be supported to thrive.
You’ll be part of a collaborative and experienced team that understands the value of nurses. Your skills will be used and developed, not sidelined.
Position: Full-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts: Between 8:00am–7:00pm
Weekends:
1 in 4 Saturdays (typical hours)
1 in 8 Sundays (8:30am–4:00pm)
Out of Hours: None
Reception duties: Very rare
Duties: A mix of medical and surgical nursing, consultations, inpatient care, and recovery

A Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS) – experienced or newly qualified with strong clinical experience
Someone confident, caring, and organised
A nurse with a genuine team-player mindset and a desire to keep learning
Interest in surgery, exotics, or inpatient care would be a real bonus
You’ll be joining a dedicated and supportive team that includes:
7 experienced vets with diverse clinical interests
A strong team of RVNs, SVNs, and ANAs
Admin support so you can focus on nursing—not paperwork

Salary: £27,500 – £32,000 depending on experience
CPD: Generous allowance with potential for certificate support
Leave: 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays – which are not worked!)
No out-of-hours commitment
Practice closed on bank holidays
