Job summary

Kingston Vets Hospital in Hull is seeking a Veterinary Care Assistant to join a dedicated team on a full-time permanent basis. You will support clinical staff, assist with patient handling, and help maintain a clean, well-run practice environment.

Working under the supervision of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will contribute to high-quality patient and client care while developing within a veterinary setting.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with animals in a clinical or non-clinical setting is advantageous.
• Strong communication with colleagues and clients.
• Organised and able to manage tasks in a busy environment.
• Proactive attitude and openness to feedback and development.
• Caring, professional approach with genuine interest in animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Veterinary Surgeons and RVNs with patient care and needs.
• Manual handling and restraining animals with empathy and care.
• Maintaining cleanliness throughout the practice and sterilising instruments.
• Running laboratory tests and packaging samples.
• Supporting inpatient care and equipment maintenance.
