Job summary

White Cross Vets, Wolstanton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, is seeking a Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. The role supports the clinical team in delivering high standards of patient and client care and helps ensure the practice runs smoothly and safely.

Working under a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will assist with inpatient care, patient handling, and peri-operative support while contributing to a caring, team-oriented environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team at White Cross Vets, Wolstanton on a full-timebasis.

Wolstanton is a thriving practice equipped with excellent facilities, including four consultation rooms, dedicated cat and dog wards, an operating theatre, digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, and access to an endoscope when needed. We proudly hold the ISFM Silver Award for cat care and the IVC Patient Safety Award.

Our veterinary team is passionate about all areas of general practice, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality clinical care. Regular audits are conducted to ensure the team consistently delivers gold-standard first opinion pet care.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.

Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

The Veterinary Care Assistant role is important in providing support to our Veterinary Surgeons and Nursing team, working collaboratively to provide outstanding care to our patients. This role will involve animal handling and restraint, inpatient care, general cleaning and maintenance, reception cover, and peri-operative support for our surgical patients.
