Job summary

Animal Trust is seeking a meticulous Veterinary Administrator to support Bolton Hospital across three areas: Debt and Insurance, Referral and Inpatient Management, and Health plan. You’ll keep clear records, follow procedures and collaborate with vets, nurses and central teams to ensure accurate invoicing, referrals and plan administration.

You’ll be proactive, organized and capable of handling sensitive financial conversations with clients while maintaining high service standards for our animal

Qualifications

• Experience in administration, customer service, finance administration or veterinary practice support.
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Strong communication, ability to handle sensitive payments professionally and empathetically.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and follow up actions.
• Comfort using computer systems and spreadsheets; able to learn new processes.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work with vets, nurses, reception teams and central colleagues.
• Commitment to handling confidential personal and financial information appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned workload across Debt and Insurance, Referral and Inpatient Management, and Health plan.
• Maintain accurate notes, next steps and follow-up dates in our practice management system.
• Raise clinical questions or capacity concerns promptly and escalate when needed.
• Coordinate referrals, review inpatient charges and ensure accurate billing for treatments, medicines and accommodation.
• Support Health plan enrolments, renewals and routine client queries, checking entitlements.
• Track outstanding items and ensure handovers between teams are clear and complete.
