Job summary

Animal Trust is seeking a Veterinary Administrator to support multiple hospitals from the Shrewsbury Hospital. The role covers debt and insurance management, referral/inpatient administration and Health plan support.

You will maintain accurate records, liaise with clients and insurers, and work with vets and central operations to ensure smooth processes. We value an organised, proactive individual who can work independently yet escalate issues when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration, customer service, finance administration or veterinary practice support.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Strong communication skills, including handling sensitive conversations about payments professionally.
• Good organisational skills to manage competing priorities and see tasks through.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned customer and insurance balances, maintaining records and following up actions.
• Coordinate referrals, ensure records and bookings are complete and charged correctly.
• Support Health plan enrolments, renewals and routine client queries.
• Assist with inpatient management and discharge processes, ensuring accurate billing and handovers.
