Job summary

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust (BRCT) seeks a dedicated Community Wellbeing Officer – Veterans to lead the design and implementation of wellbeing programmes for veterans, and to collaborate with local organisations to extend impact.

You will support veterans and their families, advocate for their needs with service providers, organise events and provide resources, and monitor outcomes to report on progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in organising and delivering a range of activities and programmes for veterans or in community services.
• Strong understanding of the challenges faced by veterans and their families, including mental health issues.
• Experience of recruitment activities and the ability to recruit and retain the required number of participants across programmes.
• Creating partnerships with like-minded organisations.
• Knowledge of safeguarding requirements when working with vulnerable adults and young people.

Responsibilities

• Programme development and implementation for veterans wellbeing.
• Support and advocacy for veterans seeking assistance and information.
• Community engagement: build relationships with veterans, their families, and community groups.
• Resource coordination: connect veterans with healthcare, mental health services, housing assistance, and employment support.
• Monitoring and evaluation: collect data, prepare reports, and communicate outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders.
