Job summary

Octopus Energy is seeking a Venue Sales Representative to engage customers at venues and promote our energy tariffs and low-carbon technologies such as solar panels, heat pumps and electric vehicles.

You will build relationships, listen carefully to customer needs, and deliver outstanding service to ensure a welcoming experience for every new customer you bring on board, traveling between venues across Southampton and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Sales experience preferred, but training will be provided.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Confident, approachable and customer-focused.
• Experience in customer-centric service and problem solving.
• Willingness to travel between venues; driving license may be required.

Octopus Energy has exciting opportunities to join our field sales team as an Venues Sales Representative.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Venue Sales Representative, you will directly engage with customers on a face to face basis, to promote our energy tariffs and low carbon technologies, such as solar panels, heat pumps and electric vehicles.
• Our Energy Helpers help introduce these local communities to Octopus Energy as a preferred potential supplier by comparing service and products with other energy companies. This helps potential customers make an informed choice on whether they’d benefit from switching to us for their energy supply at their homes.
• Your role will be to make every conversation count, delivering outstanding customer service while creating a welcoming and positive experience for every new customer you bring on board.

Requirements

• While sales experience is preferred don't let it put you off if you don't have any, we will help you with that! But if you enjoy talking to people, building relationships and helping customers, we’d love to hear from you.
• You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room to be great at Field Sales. We’re looking for people who are confident in their own way, great listeners and genuinely interested in connecting with others.
• A positive, approachable and confident communication style
• Experience in a customer centric setting where you have come up with quick and effective customer solutions
• A confident person who is willing to approach customers and maximise every customer interaction
• You love humans, and bringing customers a little bit of joy by making something easy makes your heart sing
• You’re a bit obsessive about checking you’ve got things right - it’s your job, not anyone else’s
• Honest focused and committed to being an amazing representative of our brand
• A driving license in order to travel to all our different venues situated across the locations
