Job summary

Cumberland Council is seeking a skilled Vehicle Workshop Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet at Boustead Grassing, Carlisle. The role offers a permanent contract and 37 hours per week, with a salary between £39,481 and £40,444 per annum.

You will work in a busy workshop, performing diagnostics, servicing and repairs to a high standard, while ensuring health and safety compliance and accurate documentation.

• Maintain a clean, safe and compliant workshop environment.

About This Opportunity

Cumberland Council is looking for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Workshop Mechanics to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy workshop environment, supporting a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Salary: £39,481 to £40,444 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Boustead Grassing, Carlisle
Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

About You

You will be a qualified vehicle technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) with experience in fleet or heavy vehicle maintenance. You will have strong diagnostic skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to health and safety and high-quality workmanship.
