Barnet Council is seeking an entry-level Workshop Assistant to support the workshop team within Transport Services. You will assist in day-to-day fleet maintenance operations and help ensure vehicles are safe, roadworthy and available for Council services.

Ideal candidates will have GCSE English and Maths, a willingness to learn, and some exposure to transport or workshop environments. The role offers hybrid working options and opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• GCSE level education with English and Maths or demonstrable relevant experience.
• Willingness to undertake training to meet job criteria.
• Recent exposure within a transport logistics or workshop environment or equivalent.
• Interest in vehicle maintenance or mechanical work.
• Flexible approach in a busy working environment.
• Knowledge of Council aims and values and how they affect the transport role.
• Experience operating computer/laptop/devices.
