Job description

Expleo are currently recruiting for a number of experienced Vehicle Technicians including Technicians with experience in the following areas: Electrical / Emissions / Test & Development, to join a leading Automotive Research and Development Team for a Global Automotive Manufacturer. Based close to Milton Keynes / Bedford, you will be working within a dedicated team of Test Technicians and Engineers on a contract basis.

This is not your everyday workshop environment and you will be a key player in the test and development of future vehicles. The role involves preparation, building, and maintenance of vehicles or components for testing. Responsibilities include some of the following:

1. Leading investigations into faults and/or performance issues.
2. Assemble/disassemble parts, components, or vehicles for static & dynamic Test activities.
3. Maintenance of Test Vehicle Fleet, ensuring products meet customers’ requirements.
4. Using various diagnostic software including CANalyzer.

To be considered for the Vehicle Technician roles, you will have knowledge, skills, and experience in some of the following areas:

1. Ideally educated to City & Guilds / BTEC / IMI / NVQ Level 3.
2. An understanding of vehicle dis-assembly, assembly, and maintenance techniques.
3. Experience of Emissions / Test Systems such as Horiba / AVL.
4. Vehicle system knowledge with the ability to fault find.
5. Electronic / Electrical background in automotive is desirable.
6. Understanding of vehicle diagnostic tools, i.e., CAN.
7. Interest in the latest smartphones and applications.
8. Basic Machining / Fabrication experience is desirable but not essential.

You will hold a valid driving licence and have the capability to travel.
