Job summary

Alexander Dennis Limited is seeking a Test and Development Engineer in Farnborough. You will deliver vehicle, chassis, structural, and component testing programmes and coordinate activities with internal teams and suppliers to ensure safety and performance.

You will analyse data, report findings, and support in-service investigations while maintaining compliance with technical and regulatory requirements. The role combines hands-on testing with project coordination and data-driven reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in commercial vehicle, bus, or coach development and testing.
• Knowledge of CAN-based vehicle systems and data acquisition.
• Experience using vehicle instrumentation, data logging, and diagnostic tools.
• Understanding of driveline, electrical, air, and structural vehicle systems.
• PCV driving licence.
• Experience using CAD software packages.

Responsibilities

• Deliver vehicle, chassis, structural, and component testing programmes.
• Coordinate testing activities across internal teams, suppliers, and test facilities.
• Analyse test data and report findings to stakeholders.
• Ensure testing complies with technical and legislative requirements.
• Support in-service failure investigations and validation activities.
