Job summary

Johnsons Cars Limited in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join Volkswagen Birmingham, carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards while benefiting from strong Service Advisor support. You will diagnose faults with modern equipment, perform health checks, document work clearly, and work safely as part of a professional workshop.

We offer an uncapped bonus scheme with £45,000+ OTE, paid overtime, generous holidays, pension and staff

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Previous experience as Vehicle Technician / Mechanic in a main dealership or independent garage.
• Full UK driving licence and a pride in accurate, high‑quality work.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
• Conduct vehicle health checks (EVHC) and identify additional work.
• Record all work accurately in line with company processes.
• Work safely as part of a professional workshop team.

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards
• Diagnosing faults using modern diagnostic equipment
• Completing repairs efficiently and to a high standard
• Conducting vehicle health checks (EVHC) and identifying additional work
• Ensuring all work is recorded accurately in line with company processes
• Working safely and as part of a professional workshop team

What we’re looking for

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic in an independent or main dealership environment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
