Job summary

Hartwell Abingdon is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our Abingdon dealership. You will perform maintenance, service and repair work on a range of vehicles, ensuring standards meet franchise requirements and company policy.

The ideal candidate holds NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and an MOT certificate, with at least 2 years of franchise dealership experience. Car and CV experience, plus excellent customer service, are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• MOT Tester qualification.
• At least 2 years' experience in a Franchise Dealership or similar.
• Experience with both cars and commercial vehicles (CV).
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake maintenance, service and repair activities on motor vehicles to the highest standard within scheduled times to meet company and franchise standards.
• Repair, test vehicles and diagnose faults as required by Service Manager and supervisory staff.
• Replace components, parts, lubricants and record usage.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy, organised and safe from hazards to health and safety.
• Carry out work completely and effectively within manufacturers’ servicing and repair times.
• Advise and report on vehicle faults and servicing requirements while working on vehicles, including future servicing/repair requirements.
