Job summary

Hartwell Motor Group is seeking a skilled Service Technician for our Hereford dealership, representing BYD, Omoda/Jaecoo and Ford. The role reports to the Service Manager and focuses on meeting franchise and company standards within a service environment.

The ideal candidate will be an MOT Tester with NVQ Level 3, 2+ years of franchise dealership experience, and strong customer service. We offer a pension, staff discounts, and 22 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) required.
• MOT Tester qualification essential.
• Experience in a Franchise Dealership or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Undertake MOT Tests.

• Repair, test vehicles and diagnose faults as directed by Service Manager.

Are you a successful Service Technician or Vehicle Mechanic looking to take the next steps in your career? Operating across 11 locations, the company currently represents various brands including BYD. We are seeking a Service Technician to join our dealership in Hereford where we represent BYD, Omoda/Jaecoo and Ford (authorised repairer status). The ideal candidate will also be a qualified MOT Tester

TheService Technician will report to the Service Manager and will be responsible for meeting both franchise and company standards in a service environment.

Key Responsibilities of Service Technician:

• undertake MOT Tests.
• To undertake maintenance, service and repair activities on motor vehicles of all types to the highest standard within scheduled times to meet company and franchise standards.
• Repair, test vehicles and diagnose their faults as and when required by Service Manager and supervisory staff.
• Replace components, parts, lubricants and consumables and record usage.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy, organised and safe from hazards to health and safety.
• Carry out work completely and effectively within manufacturers' servicing and repair times.
• Advise and report on vehicle faults and servicing requirements while working on vehicles, including future servicing/repair requirements.

The Ideal Service Technician:

• Qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent).
• MOT Tester.
• Have at least 2 years experience after qualifying period, of working in a Franchise Dealership (or similar).
• Have both car and CV experience;
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Take responsibility for the quality and quantity of their work.
