Job summary

Hampshire County Council is recruiting a Workshop Technician to inspect, service and repair a range of light and heavy vehicles, including HGVs and trailers. You will use modern diagnostic tools, perform DVSA-compliant inspections, and maintain thorough records while supporting occasional roadside assistance.

The role offers sociable hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm) with overtime opportunities, a supportive workshop team, and a generous Local Government Pension Scheme.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience using diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Strong problem-solving and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Prepare vehicles for MOTs and conduct DVSA-aligned inspections.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with roadside breakdowns when required.
