Job summary

AKA Recruitment is seeking a Vehicle Technician in Wakefield to service, repair and diagnose a range of vehicles in a modern workshop.

You will work Monday to Friday 8:30am–5pm with one in three Saturdays 8:30am–12:30pm, and a basic salary up to £35,000 with potential negotiation based on experience. Own tools and a full UK driving license are expected, with a supportive team culture and long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience as Vehicle Technician.
• Own tools are essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence with up to six penalty points.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
• Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment and carry out repairs to the highest industry standards.
• Remove and refit mechanical and electrical components efficiently and accurately.
• Complete vehicle health checks and inspections, identifying any additional work required.
• Ensure all servicing and repairs are completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
• Carry out routine maintenance including brakes, suspension, clutches, cambelts and engine repairs.
• Accurately complete all job cards and service documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
• Ensure all tools and workshop equipment are maintained and used correctly.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices at all times.
• Work closely with the Service Advisors and Workshop Controller to ensure vehicles are completed within agreed timescales.
• Deliver a high standard of workmanship while contributing positively to the workshop team.
