Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Camberley is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our independent service centre team.

You will perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs across a range of vehicles, use modern diagnostic scanners, and carry out MOT-related work (where qualified). Our busy workshop features 6 ramps, 2 MOT bays, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• F-Gas certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• DVSA MOT Tester licence preferred but not required.
• Own hand tools for daily workshop tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out light vehicle servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs across a range of makes and models.
• Utilise modern diagnostic scanners and workshop tooling to troubleshoot faults.
• Execute repair work on MOT failures to high trade standards and support workshop flow.
• Conduct statutory Class 4 MOT inspections efficiently and accurately to DVSA standards (if qualified).

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our premier independent service centre team in Camberley. Operating from a spacious 6-ramp setup alongside a skilled team of 5 technicians, we offer a £35,000–£40,000 basic salary, structured weekday hours with Saturdays on a rota basis, and access to top-tier diagnostic equipment and MOT testing bays.

The Rewards

• Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year basic (Tailored to your technical experience and MOT qualification status).
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00, with Saturday morning shifts required on a fair rota basis.

Your Role

As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Camberley workshop, you will:

• Carry out light vehicle servicing, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs across a diverse range of vehicle makes and models.
• Utilize modern diagnostic scanners and workshop tooling to systematically troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Execute repair work on MOT failures to high trade standards and support overall workshop flow.
• Conduct statutory Class 4 MOT inspections efficiently and accurately to DVSA standards (if qualified).

What You Need

• Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds (or equivalent time-served experience) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential. An active DVSA MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
• Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools for daily workshop repair tasks.
• Key Strengths: Reliable diagnostic skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive team-player attitude.
