Job summary

Lloyd Skoda in Carlisle is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team. The role involves completing service and repair work, diagnosing faults, and ensuring high safety standards are met for our customers.

We welcome qualified MOT Testers and offer a salary of £35,500–£52,000 depending on experience, with additional uncapped bonuses and an enhanced overtime rate. Benefits include generous annual leave and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified MOT Tester preferred.
• Experience with diagnosing vehicle faults.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders including repairs, parts required, and labour charged.
• Test vehicles using measuring devices to provide accurate diagnostic reports to the Workshop Controller.
• Interpret and use technical data and manufacturer instructions.
• Conduct routine service work on vehicles brought into the workshop.
• Remove and install vehicle components per the manufacturer’s methodology.
• Carry out vehicle health checks and identify areas of concern.
• Carry out preparations for new and Approved Used vehicles.
• Perform technical repair work in line with established procedures.
• Ensure faults are recorded on job cards and inform the Service Manager of any additional faults.
• Record details of work including hours and material usage.
• Ensure vehicle safety standards are met when returned to customers.
• Ensure vehicles are protected and kept clean during service and repair.
• Ensure the workshop is clean and tidy at end of shift.
