Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Wolverhampton is seeking a qualified mechanic to prepare vehicles for customers, ensuring safety and high standards. You will work on a wide range of models, diagnose issues with computer-based tools and perform servicing, repairs and maintenance to demanding specifications.

We offer a competitive salary (£40,000–£50,000 DOE), generous leave, overtime paid at time and a half, private healthcare and a pathway to EV accreditation.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3.
• Ability to work independently or in a busy team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to carry out work to high standards and to deadlines.
• Proactive and enthusiastic approach.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace broken or defective parts.
• Carry out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road test vehicles to check repairs.
• Maintain equipment and ensure tools are in good condition.
• Follow checklists to ensure all procedures are completed.
• Complete all documentation to the required standard.
