Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited seeks a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic for a leading UK automotive group near Oxford. Roles require Level 3 technician status or Level 2 with at least 3 years’ experience; full UK driving licence and right to work essential.

Salary up to £36,064 plus bonus and overtime, with OTE over £39k. Eligible candidates will join a busy franchised workshop with ongoing manufacturer training, EV/hybrid tech exposure, and career development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent IMI / City & Guilds qualification).
• Hands-on workshop experience as a mechanic or technician, ideally within a franchised dealership environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and component updates, in line with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across braking, steering, suspension, and basic engine systems.
• Complete thorough Electronic Vehicle Health Checks (eVHCs) to identify and record any work required.
• Record accurate technical findings and parts requirements clearly on digital job cards.
• Complete standard warranty repairs in line with factory protocols and agreed timeframes.
• Maintain high levels of workshop productivity to meet individual efficiency and first-time fix targets.
