Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised Level 4 Vehicle Technician qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI).
• Demonstrated experience as a Vehicle Technician with strong diagnostic fault-finding ability.
• Confident using vehicle diagnostic equipment and interpreting fault information.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician to join our client's team in Newcastle, specialising in vehicle diagnostics and complex fault finding.

Working within a busy automotive workshop, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical faults across a range of vehicle makes and models, ensuring repairs are completed accurately and in line with manufacturer and company standards.

The Role:

As a Vehicle Technician, your duties will include:

• Carrying out advanced vehicle diagnostics and fault finding.
• Identifying and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues.
• Using diagnostic equipment to investigate vehicle faults and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Undertaking general mechanical repairs, servicing and maintenance where required.
• Diagnosing and repairing components including clutches, cam belts and gearboxes.
• Carrying out underbody safety checks.
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with approved methods and company standards.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and ensuring repairs are completed correctly.

The Person:

• Must hold a recognised Level 4 Vehicle Technician qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI).
• Demonstrable experience working as a Vehicle Technician, with strong diagnostic and fault-finding expertise.
• Confident using vehicle diagnostic equipment and interpreting fault information.
