Job summary

Lookers St Helens Vauxhall is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join their workshop. You will perform health checks, services and repairs, working with experienced technicians and reporting to the Aftersales Manager.

Manufacturer accredited training and progression opportunities are available to accelerate your career. The role requires a full UK driving licence, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and prior experience as a mechanic or technician.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanic or technician.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles.
• Check vehicles in line with manufacturers guidelines.
• Fit any additional accessories requested by the customer.
• Vehicle health check and report any further work which may be required.
• Checks on the vehicles' lights, tyre pressure, mechanical and electrical components.
• Complete minor repairs on new and used vehicles.
• Understand and perform basic diagnosis in mechanical and electrical work.
• Conduct vehicle service per manufacturers guidelines and customer requests.
• Carry out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer.
• Warranty repairs per manufacturer’s guidelines and write up.
• Take the customer’s vehicle out on a road test to ensure faults are rectified.
• Complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard.
