Job summary

Autoskills-Uk in Taunton is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our service team. You will service, maintain and diagnose vehicles, ensuring repairs are done to the highest standards within a professional workshop.

We offer a basic salary up to £37,000 with a bonus scheme, Monday–Friday hours and occasional Saturday mornings. Ongoing training and clear career progression opportunities are provided in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Strong servicing, maintenance and diagnostic skills.
• Own tools and toolbox are required.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a busy workshop team.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence (subject to licence checks).

VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

Location: Taunton

Salary: Up to £37,000 Basic Salary + Bonus

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm | 1 in 4 Saturdays, 8:30am - 1:00pm

THE ROLE

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs while ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repair work
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Completing repairs and maintenance operations accurately and efficiently
• Ensuring all work complies with manufacturer and health & safety standards
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying additional work where required
• Accurately completing job cards and workshop documentation
• Working closely with Service Advisors and other workshop colleagues
• Maintaining high levels of workmanship and customer satisfaction

ABOUT YOU

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• At least 2 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician within the automotive industry
• Strong servicing, maintenance and diagnostic skills
• MOT Tester Licence desirable but not essential
• Own tools and toolbox
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship
• Ability to work effectively as part of a busy workshop team
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence (subject to licence checks)
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
