Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our client's busy workshop in Snodland, maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of cars and light commercial vehicles. The role offers a basic salary of £39,729 with realistic earnings of £45,729 OTE and regular overtime opportunities.

You will diagnose faults, service and repair vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance while working in a proactive, safety‑mocused environment with opportunities for further training.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, with at least three years' experience.
• Alternatively, a fully qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs.

Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic

Location: Snodland

Salary: £39,729 Basic + Bonus + Overtime | £45,729 OTE

Hours: 42.5 hours per week | Day Shifts Only

We are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our client's busy workshop, maintaining and repairing a large fleet of cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs).

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established vehicle maintenance business, working on a varied fleet of vehicles within a professional workshop environment. With a basic salary of £39,729, realistic earnings of £45,729 OTE and additional overtime opportunities, this role offers excellent earning potential and long‑term career prospects.

The Role - Vehicle Technician

Working within a busy fleet maintenance workshop, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable and roadworthy.

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Completing routine maintenance, inspections and vehicle safety checks.
• Working on braking systems, suspension, steering, engines and vehicle electrics.
• Ensuring vehicles meet roadworthiness and legal compliance standards.
• Carrying out repairs and maintenance on a varied fleet of vans and cars.
• Recording completed work accurately and maintaining high workshop standards.

Requirements - Vehicle Technician

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A minimum Level 2 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, with at least three years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• Alternatively, a fully qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
• Knowledge of vehicle braking systems, suspension, steering and electrics.
• Experience working on cars, vans or light commercial vehicles.
• A proactive approach with good attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Hybrid and electric vehicle experience would be advantageous, although additional training is available for the successful candidate.

Salary, Hours & Benefits

• Basic salary of £39,729 per annum.
• OTE of approximately £45,729 including bonus and overtime.
