Group1 Automotive is hiring a Vehicle Technician (Mechanic) at Audi Southend. You will perform maintenance and repairs to high standards, with opportunities to learn new skills in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification.
• Experienced Level 2 qualified technicians with a dealership background encouraged to apply.
• Valid UK driving licence required.
• MOT licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs following manufacturer standards.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components to assess wear and replacements.
• Provide expert technical advice to customers with clear, professional communication.
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards and foster trust.
• Collaborate with service reception and workshop control for smooth workflow.
• Support and guide fellow technicians in the workshop.

What you’ll do day to day

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components to assess wear, damage, or required replacements
• Provide expert technical advice to customers when necessary, ensuring clear and professional communication
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards, fostering trust that leads to repeat business and referrals
• Collaborate effectively with the service reception team and workshop control for seamless workflow and customer satisfaction
• Offer support and guidance to fellow technicians in the workshop, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing

Helpful skills and qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification
• Experienced Level 2 qualified technicians with a dealership background are encouraged to apply
• Thorough understanding of vehicle safety standards and guidelines
• Strong problem‑solving skills, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work
• Proven ability to meet efficiency targets while maintaining a keen eye for detail
• Ability to collaborate and contribute positively within a team environment
• A current valid MOT licence is advantageous but not essential
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence
