Group 1 Automotive is hiring a Vehicle Technician (Mechanic) in the UK. The role offers an on-site position with a 4-day rota, including one full Saturday, and a £60,000 OTE uncapped earnings potential.

Experienced technicians can earn a welcome bonus totaling £2,500, plus comprehensive benefits. You will maintain vehicles to high standards, inspect components, and advise customers while supporting a busy workshop and team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification.
• MOT licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
• Experience in a dealership environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components for wear or damage.
• Provide expert technical advice to customers with clear communication.
• Maintain outstanding customer service to foster trust and referrals.
• Collaborate with service reception and workshop control for seamless workflow.
• Support and guide fellow Technicians to promote teamwork.

What you'll do day to day

• Perform high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs, following manufacturer standards and guidelines to ensure reliability and safety
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components to assess wear, damage, or required replacements
• Provide expert technical advice to customers when necessary, ensuring clear and professional communication
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards, fostering trust that leads to repeat business and referrals
• Collaborate effectively with the service reception team and workshop control for seamless workflow and customer satisfaction
• Offer support and guidance to fellow Technicians in the workshop, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing

Helpful skills and qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification
• Experienced Level 2 qualified technicians with a dealership backgroundare encouraged to apply
• Thorough understanding of vehicle safety standards and guidelines
• Strong problem-solving skills, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work
• Proven ability to meet efficiency targets while maintaining a keen eye for detail
• Ability to collaborate and contribute positively within a team environment
• A current valid MOT licence is advantageous but not essential
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence
