Royal Mail is recruiting a Level 3 qualified vehicle mechanic for the Oxford Workshop on a permanent contract. You will perform inspections and repairs across a range of vehicles, using your own toolkit and supported by specialist workshop equipment.

The role requires flexibility to cover a rotating shift pattern and occasional Saturdays. Salary starts at £40,906 with potential overtime bringing earnings up to £60k.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanic at advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent).
• Proven vehicle technician experience on a wide range of vehicles (LCV/HGV).
• Own toolkit for standard repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• You'll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You'll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You'll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanic: you're fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You've got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you're able to work on a flexible shift rota. You're always willing to support your team where necessary.

We're recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Oxford Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £60k including overtime. Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00 - 14:30, week 2: 09:30 - 18:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off)
