Job summary

HiQ Tyres & Autocare in Stockingford is looking for a Vehicle Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. You will inspect, maintain and repair vehicles to DVSA standards, using dealer-level and generic diagnostic equipment to support efficient repairs.

The role requires a Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or time served) and a full UK driving licence; you will discuss repairs with customers and calculate time and cost estimates for work.

Qualifications

• Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience is required.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience delivering interim, full and major services plus repair work (brakes, suspension and steering components, air conditioning).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair vehicles to DVSA standards.
• Use dealer-level and generic diagnostic equipment for repairs.
• Perform repairs and maintenance per manufacturer standards.
• Discuss required repairs with customers to provide cost estimates.
• Calculate time and cost of vehicle work.
• Maintain health and safety standards and company guidelines.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records to a high standard.
• Carry out additional duties to support store operations.
• Perform administrative duties as required within the store.
• Assist in regular stock checks in line with Company Policy.

Job description

HiQ Tyres & Autocare has an exciting new opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join our team in Stockingford. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Monday - Saturday 8:30am - 5:30pm, salary depending on experience.

What you will be doing as a Vehicle Technician:

• Inspection, maintenance, and repair of vehicles to ensure road worthiness and reliability to DVSA standards.
• Use of dealer-level and generic diagnostic equipment to assist in time-efficient repairs.
• Perform repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer standards and schedules.
• Discussing required repairs with customer
• Calculating the expected time and cost of vehicle work
• Always maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices.
• Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard
• To undertake any additional duties (within reason) for the efficient running of the Store.
• To carry out administration duties as required within the store.
• Assist in carrying out regular stock checks in accordance with Company Policy.

What you will need:

• Must have a Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full driver's licence with no more than 9 points
• Experience of delivering interim, full and major services plus relevant repair and replacement work (brakes, suspension and steering component replacement, air con service etc)
