Job summary

HiQ Tyres & Autocare is seeking a Vehicle Technician in Northampton for a full-time, permanent role. Working Monday to Friday 8:30am–5:30pm with a half-day finish on Saturdays, the role offers the chance to work with dealer-level diagnostic equipment and maintain DVSA-standard roadworthiness.

You will service and repair vehicles, discuss repairs with customers, and handle time/cost estimates while following safety and paperwork procedures. Salary depends on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must hold a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience with servicing and repair work (brakes, suspension, air con, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair vehicles to DVSA standards.
• Use dealer-level and generic diagnostic equipment for repairs.
• Perform repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Explain required repairs to customers.
• Estimate time and cost for vehicle work.
• Maintain health and safety standards and paperwork.
• Undertake additional duties for store efficiency.
• Carry out store administration and stock checks.

Job description

HiQ Tyres & Autocare has an exciting new opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join our team. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm – half a day finish on a Saturday, salary depending on experience.

What you will be doing as a Vehicle Technician:

• Inspection, maintenance, and repair of vehicles to ensure road worthiness and reliability to DVSA standards.
• Use of dealer-level and generic diagnostic equipment to assist in time-efficient repairs.
• Perform repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer standards and schedules.
• Discussing required repairs with customer
• Calculating the expected time and cost of vehicle work
• Always maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices.
• Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard
• To undertake any additional duties (within reason) for the efficient running of the Store.
• To carry out administration duties as required within the store.
• Assist in carrying out regular stock checks in accordance with Company Policy.

What you will need:

• Must have a Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points
• Experience of delivering interim, full and major services plus relevant repair and replacement work (brakes, suspension and steering component replacement, air con service etc)
