Purpose of the role

Colas and Iveco are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our Mechanical Services Team in Ringmer. The Vehicle Technician will perform planned maintenance and emergency repairs on various vehicles. Our customers include Iveco, NHS trusts, emergency services, and others.

Main Responsibilities

The Vehicle Technician's primary duties include routine maintenance and repairs for vehicles of different makes and models. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Performing major and minor repairs on cars, vans, heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other fleet vehicles
  • Conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance to DVSA standards
  • Communicating effectively and following instructions accurately
  • Maintaining health and safety standards and managing risk assessments
  • Diagnosing and planning repairs independently and as part of a team
  • Keeping records of repairs and services performed
  • Providing roadside repair and breakdown cover for clients
  • Completing documentation, warranty claims, and escalating issues when necessary
  • Training recruits and trainees in-house
Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be qualified and experienced, with a strong team ethic and passion for vehicles.

Qualifications include:

  • Full driving license; LGV license is a plus
  • NVQ Level III or City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Repair, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of various vehicle makes and models
Available Training
  • HGV training
  • Safety and Environment training
  • Roadside working/recovery (if required)
  • Electric Vehicle (EV) training
Package Description

  • Salary between £35,000 and £45,000, dependent on experience and qualifications, with overtime at time and a half
