Job summary

A busy independent workshop in Haslemere is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician/Car Mechanic to join a small team. You will work across all makes and models, diagnosing faults, performing repairs and MOT tests, with a broad hands-on remit and a supportive environment.

The role is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm, offering up to £50,000 depending on experience, with 28 days holiday and on-site parking. No weekends or overtime required, making this a balanced hands-on opportunity.

Qualifications

• Broad hands-on experience with diagnosing and repairing varied vehicles.
• Ability to work across all makes and models with minimal supervision.
• MOT tester qualification would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform vehicle repairs.
• Carry out servicing and routine maintenance.

We’re recruiting an experienced Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic / Automotive Technician / MOT Tester to join a small, established independent workshop in Haslemere.

This is a genuine all-rounder position working on all makes and models of cars. You’ll need a strong practical background and the confidence to diagnose, repair and maintain a wide variety of vehicles.

With a team of just two technicians, this is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, taking ownership of their work and having plenty of variety throughout the day.

Salary & Benefits

• £35,000–£50,000 per year, depending on experience

The Role – Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

As a Vehicle Technician, Motor Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician or Car Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for a wide range of workshop duties, including:

• Vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
• Mechanical fault diagnosis
• MOT testing
• Servicing and routine vehicle maintenance
• General mechanical repairs
• Brake repairs and replacement
• Steering and running gear
• Engine repairs and maintenance
• Clutch replacement and repairs
• Electrical fault finding
• Vehicle inspections
• Preventative maintenance
• Identifying faults and carrying out effective repairs
• Working on a wide variety of cars, makes and models

This isn't a specialist role where you'll spend your days working on the same vehicle or carrying out the same repair.

You need to be a genuine all-round Vehicle Technician with a broad range of hands-on mechanical experience.

You’ll need to demonstrate strong hands-on mechanical experience and be comfortable working across all makes and models.

You should be confident carrying out vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs with minimal supervision.

An MOT Tester qualification would be highly advantageous.
