Job summary

IMI in Barking is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to service, repair and diagnose a varied fleet of cars and vans in a busy workshop. The role requires a Level 2 qualification with 3 years’ experience or a full Level 3, and the right to work in the UK.

You will work 42.5 hours per week on day shifts, with overtime paid at time and a half. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package including pension, health and life cover, annual leave, and IMI-accredited training.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification with at least 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• Fully qualified Level 3 Technician with strong servicing, repair and diagnostic experience.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a varied fleet of cars and vans.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical vehicle faults.
• Inspect vehicles and identify required repairs.
• Complete mechanical repairs safely and efficiently.
• Ensure vehicles remain safe, roadworthy and legally compliant.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship across all repairs.
• Work closely with the workshop team to maximise fleet availability.

We are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, Motor Vehicle Technician or Mechanic to join a fleet workshop in Barking. Applicants must either hold a Level 2 qualification with at least 3 years' employment as a Technician/Mechanic, or be fully qualified to Level 3, with strong servicing, repair and diagnostic experience and the right to work in the UK.

Vehicle Technician Requirements

• Comfortable working across a varied car and van fleet
