Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• MOT Tester qualification is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience inspecting, servicing and repairing motor vehicles.
• Commitment to high technical & quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality vehicle servicing, maintenance, repairs and diagnostics.
• Perform diagnostics and identify faults accurately.
• Meet/exceed customer satisfaction and workshop productivity targets.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and complete manufacturer training.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and manufacturer specifications.

If your earnings exceed this amount, you'll receive the higher figure. The position offers a basic salary of £32,429, with an average technician earning £42,500 last year and higher-performing technicians earning an average of £58,000. The role is full-time, working 45 hours per week, reporting to the Aftersales Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out high-quality vehicle maintenance, servicing, repairs and diagnostics while helping to deliver excellent customer satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs to a high standard.
• Performing technical diagnostics and identifying faults accurately.
• Meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction and workshop productivity targets.
• Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and completing relevant manufacturer training.
• Ensuring all work meets the required quality standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Completing vehicle health checks in line with established processes.
• Working efficiently to support workshop performance and customer expectations.

To be considered for this opportunity, you'll ideally have:

• A minimum NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• A full, valid UK driving licence.
• Experience inspecting, servicing and repairing motor vehicles.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• A commitment to maintaining high technical and quality standards.
• The ability to work effectively within a busy workshop environment.
• An MOT Tester qualification would be highly advantageous.
• Previous experience working within a franchised dealership would also be beneficial, although candidates from independent garages and other automotive environments are encouraged to apply.
