Job summary

Holt-Recruitment is seeking a Vehicle Technician for a busy Exeter service centre. You will service and repair vehicles, including clutches and timing belts, and perform diagnostics on electrical, brake, steering, and suspension systems.

The role offers a basic salary around £29,000–£34,000 with OTE, based on experience, plus an uncapped bonus scheme. Hours are 5 days, 44 hours per week, with generous leave and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent).
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience in diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

• Servicing and repair/replacement work; can carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics.
• Work with a workshop controller and team to ensure a smooth customer experience.

Key Vehicle Technician Roles and Responsibilities:

• As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.
• Supported by a workshop controller you’ll work amongst a team of skilled technicians and fitters, along with dedicated customer services advisors to make it a seamless customer experience.

Minimum Vehicle Technician Requirements:

• Qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points

• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
